Growing organic vegetables is a great step towards self reliance and self sufficiency! Anyone with a back yard, a balcony or a few acres can do it. In our lovely cool climate of the Southern Highlands, you can make growing food your passion and produce delicious, nutrient packed vegetable as you need them right out of your own garden.

While this cool temperate climate places constraints on when you can plant seeds and seedlings it also has wonderful advantages such as making it easy to grow the lovely large Brassicia such as cauliflower and broccoli, all year around. The climate means we can grow delicious crisp Japanese and Chinese leafy green vegetables, Japanese turnip and all the root staples of European cuisine such as carrots, parsnips, swedes and kohlrabi in the cooler months when the frosty mornings adds an extra sweetness to the flavour.

We have been micro commercial organic market gardeners for over 12 years in Braidwood NSW selling to the public direct, to eateries and into Canberra to various box schemes. This class is based on our experience and knowledge of growing vegetables efficiently and sustainably while enriching our soil and cultivating diversity in the plant and microbal life that depending on it.
